New Delhi, 27/03: Will there be a lockdown again? Will there be a lockdown in the country? Will there be a brake on leaving the house? News was being circulated about the lockdown in India amid the Middle East war crisis. There was news that there would be an energy lockdown in the country. But Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has made a big statement about this. He has shared a post on social media regarding the government’s steps to meet the energy needs and the rumors of the lockdown. He said that the global situation is uncertain, and we are closely monitoring the situation related to energy, supply chains, and essential goods. There is no such proposal regarding the lockdown.
Will there be a lockdown in the country? Union Minister Hardeep Puri said that India has shown resilience in the face of global uncertainty and will continue to take proactive and coordinated action. He said that the rumors being spread about lockdown are completely false. I would like to clarify that no such proposal is under consideration at the government level. At such a time, it is very important for all of us to remain calm, responsible, and united. In such a situation, spreading rumors and creating unnecessary fear is irresponsible and harmful.
In the last month, international crude oil prices have skyrocketed, from around $70 per barrel to around $122. As a result, petrol and diesel prices have increased for consumers across the world. Prices have increased by around 30% to 50% in Southeast Asia, 30% in North America, 20% in Europe, and 50% in Africa. Hardeep Singh Puri said that the government had two options: increase prices for citizens like all other countries, or otherwise the government should bear its own financial burden so that the common man will be safe from the volatility of the international market.
What did Kiren Rijiju say? Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said that the Prime Minister has made it clear that there is no need to panic. The Government of India has the situation under complete control and is ensuring that the public does not face any trouble. The Prime Minister is personally monitoring the situation.
