Bajrang has become an example for many students today, which will inspire everyone to do something in the midst of sorrow and hardship. Despite many family crises, financial problems and a Hindi medium background, Bajrang cracked the UPSC in his third attempt and secured 454th rank and today he has become a good IPS officer.

Bajrang Prasad Yadav is a resident of Dhobahat village in Basti district of Uttar Pradesh. His initial education was from a public school in the village, after which he completed his 10th and 12th education from a private school. Bajrang, who was a brilliant student since childhood, later studied at Allahabad University (Prayagraj). From there, he obtained a BSc degree in Mathematics.

Despite coming from a simple farmer’s family, his father’s dream was for his son to become a great civil servant. Following his father’s wish and inspiration, Bajrang moved to the country’s capital Delhi in 2019 to prepare for UPSC.

While Bajrang was preparing for his first exam, i.e. Prelims, in Delhi, a mountain of sorrow fell on his family. In which the direction of his life changed. In 2020, his farmer father, who had always extended a helping hand to the needy and weaker sections of the village, was brutally murdered by some goons. This horrific and tragic incident had shattered the entire family.

It was very difficult for Bajrang to come out of this deep grief. But during his father’s funeral, he strengthened his resolve. He vowed to become the voice of the law, the greatest force in the country, to fight against injustice. He decided that he would pass the civil services examination under any circumstances, so that the oppressed of the society would get justice and no other innocent family would have to endure such unbearable pain.

After his father’s death, the entire family fell into a huge financial crisis. It was impossible for Bajrang to bear the expenses of coaching and tuition while staying in Delhi. On the contrary, he did not lose courage and used to collect his coaching fees in Delhi by selling crops from the fields.

During this difficult time, his mother used to constantly strengthen his mind on the phone. She encouraged her son. She stood like a strong wall. Even after failing in two attempts, Bajrang did not let his courage and will break. He corrected his mistakes, made Hindi medium his strength and in his third attempt, he achieved the dream of his heavenly father by securing 454th rank in the country’s most prestigious examination in 2023. This story of Bajrang has today become a source of inspiration for lakhs of Hindi medium students across the country.
