An IndiGo flight made an emergency landing at Chennai airport late on Tuesday night. It is said that the engine of this flight coming from Kolkata failed late last night. Due to this, the decision to make an emergency landing was taken. There were a total of 224 passengers including the crew on this flight. According to the information received, the left engine of an IndiGo flight coming from Kolkata failed just before landing. Due to this, it was forced to make an emergency landing. As a result, a complete emergency was declared at Chennai airport. After this incident, fear was created. People were panicked.
According to the Airport Authority of India officials, there were 224 passengers on board the IndiGo flight 6E-723. This flight was coming from Kolkata to Chennai. The flight made an emergency landing at 11:29 pm on August 11. The pilot discovered that the left engine of the aircraft had failed. The pilot immediately informed the Air Traffic Control (ATC). The airport authorities then took necessary measures to ensure a safe landing.
The aircraft touched down on the runway at 11:37 pm. All passengers were safe and no injuries were reported. The full emergency was lifted at 11:47 am, about 10 minutes after the aircraft landed safely. According to airport officials, the incident did not affect normal operations at the Chennai airport and all flight operations are continuing as normal. Officials have launched an investigation to find out the cause of the engine failure.
