A security guard was performing his duties at London Fashion Week, unaware that a video of him would go viral on social media and transform his life. The video went so viral that it caught the attention of modeling agencies worldwide; he has now transitioned from a security guard to a model. According to a New York Post report, 24-year-old Soufiane Boussetta lives in South London. Last month, he was working security at designer Simone Rocha’s show during London Fashion Week. While many attendees had their eyes on him, Soufiane remained focused on his job.
He mentioned that people often look at him, so the situation felt like a routine occurrence to him. After finishing her shift, Soufiane returned home and was astonished to see her phone; a video of her had gone viral on social media. The video showed her standing as a security guard near the entrance of a fashion show. The accompanying caption read: “Sorry Simone Rocha, your collection was impressive, but the show’s security guard stole the spotlight!” In no time, the video garnered over 900,000 views. Subsequently, Soufiane’s social media inbox was flooded with messages from modeling agencies across the globe.
Reflecting on the experience, Soufiane says that at the time, she was simply doing her job. He had no idea that someone would record a video of him and post it on Instagram. After the video went viral, Soufian was approached for modeling assignments from Milan, Paris, and the US. However, instead of going abroad, he signed a contract with a well-known modeling agency in London. He has also started practicing his catwalk and has already completed a few modeling sessions for photoshoots. Soufian is originally from Spain; he moved to London about four years ago. He initially worked in the construction sector and later took up a security job with a private firm, where he was responsible for the security of several famous personalities. Many people had suggested that he become a model due to his height and appearance, but he had never taken the idea seriously.
