AI-Powered E-Challan System Launched on Odisha Highways: Break Traffic Rules & Fine Reaches Your Home!

To make the traffic system on national and state highways safer and cleaner, an AI (Artificial Intelligence) based e-challan system is being implemented in Odisha. Through this modern system, traffic rule violations will be automatically detected and e-challans will be issued immediately.

High-resolution AI cameras installed on the highway will automatically read the number plate of the vehicle. Similarly, the speed of the vehicle, lane usage and compliance with other traffic rules will also be monitored. In case of violation of the rules, the entire data will be automatically sent to the central server and e-challan will be prepared on that basis.

Through this system, various traffic rule violations such as speeding, riding a bike without a helmet, not wearing a seat belt, driving while using a mobile phone, red signal violation and traveling in the wrong lane will be easily detected. E-challans will be issued in the name of the owner of the vehicle that violated the rules and information about it will be available through SMS or online portal.

The biggest advantage of this AI-based system is that it can work continuously for 24 hours. It will reduce human errors and interference and the evidence-based challan system will be more transparent. It will also make traffic management more efficient and effective.

The main objective of this new system is to reduce road accidents, prevent reckless driving and increase awareness among the people about traffic rules. If vehicle drivers follow helmets, seat belts and other safety rules and drive within the prescribed speed limit, they can be safe not only from e-challans, but also from road accidents.

The AI-based e-challan system is a big step towards smart traffic management in Odisha. It is not only for collecting fines, but also a helpful step in creating a disciplined, safe and accident-free road system.
