Popular messaging platform WhatsApp is always introducing new features to enhance the security and privacy of its users. In this regard, the company is now working on a very amazing privacy feature, which will completely change the chatting experience of the users. According to various reports, WhatsApp is testing a new ‘After Reading’ disappearing message mode. Now this feature has been made available for iPhone beta users. We would like to inform you that this new feature is completely different from the previous disappearing messages on WhatsApp, and its working method is also very different. Let us know how this feature will work and how users will benefit from it.
How will this ‘After Reading’ option work?
WhatsApp is going to add another layer of privacy to disappearing messages through this new option. According to the new option, while setting the message timer, users can choose the option to ‘disappear as soon as the message is read.’ Apart from this, users will also get the opportunity to set a time like 5 minutes, 1 hour, and now 12 hours. If no one reads your message, then it will be automatically deleted after 24 hours. The biggest feature of this feature is that its timer will start when the other person sees or reads the message. This feature can be used in group chats along with individual chats. This will not only increase the security and privacy of the user but will also be very helpful in saving the phone’s storage.
How is this different from the previous disappearing message?
The disappearing message option currently available on WhatsApp allows users to set a time limit of 24 hours, 7 days, and 90 days. But the time limit starts as soon as the message is sent, regardless of whether the recipient reads it or not. But in the new ‘After Reading’ mode, the timer will work only after the message is read.
When will this feature come?
WhatsApp has already rolled out this feature for iPhone beta testers. Its testing for Android users is also going to start soon. It is expected to be launched for all general users in the next few weeks.
The wait for WhatsApp’s paid subscription, ‘WhatsApp Plus,’ will also be over!
Along with this amazing privacy feature, WhatsApp is also testing its own paid subscription plan, ‘WhatsApp Plus.’ Its initial rollout has been done in some key regions of Europe. The company is reportedly going to add many more interesting and premium features to this paid subscription in the coming days.
