Concerns about ethanol petrol have grown after the E-20 controversy. Doubts have grown about E-25. Will the mileage of the driver’s vehicle decrease or will the engine be damaged? Why did the brakes fall on E-25? The controversy over ethanol-blended petrol in the country does not seem to be stopping. While there have been complaints about the use of E-20 petrol reducing engine performance and mileage, now discussions have started about E-25 petrol. However, looking at the current situation, it is reported that the government has decided not to rush into the launch of E-25.
According to the report, the government will launch E-25 petrol only after a complete review of all the complaints and impacts raised about E-20 petrol. The new grade of fuel will contain 75% petrol and 25% ethanol. The government has not yet announced its launch date. The government has scrapped excise duty on petrol blended with ethanol from 22% to 30%. Similarly, the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has also fixed standards for this grade of fuel. This shows that the preparations for E-25 are almost complete.
A new petrol will be launched only after a thorough investigation of the claims regarding the impact of E-20 petrol on vehicle performance. Many vehicle owners have complained of reduced mileage and engine performance after using E-20 petrol. The government is taking this issue seriously. According to experts, since the price of ethanol is lower than petrol, the mileage of some vehicles may be affected.
According to government officials, E-20 petrol has already been implemented. Now, before implementing E-25, discussions will also be held with vehicle manufacturers. Before using this grade of petrol in existing vehicles, it will be checked from all angles. In fact, the government had set a target of implementing E-20 petrol across the country by 2030, but it was implemented five years ago. However, many drivers have claimed that this fuel has damaged their vehicles. The report said that ethanol is a low-calorie fuel, due to which the mileage of the vehicles has decreased.
