Coca-Cola, the world’s leading soft drink company, is preparing to launch an IPO of its bottling company Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB) in India. According to media reports, the company could raise around $1 billion, or around Rs 9,500 crore, through this IPO. According to reports, Coca-Cola has invited several major investment banks to present their plans for the IPO. The presentation of these banks will be held in London next week. Rothschild & Co. is acting as the company’s advisor in this entire process and will hold talks with potential banks there.
According to reports, Coca-Cola wants a valuation of around $10 billion (around Rs 85,000 crore) for its Indian bottling company. However, the plan is still in its early stages. Therefore, many decisions are still to be made, such as when the IPO will come, what its size will be, how much the final value of the company will be, and how many shares will be sold. All these things may change in the future. So far, Coca-Cola and Rothschild & Co. have not given any official comment on these reports.
Entry of a foreign company –
The Indian stock market has been stable in the last few years and the number of domestic investors has increased significantly. Due to this, many foreign and multinational companies are listing their Indian units on the stock market. This gives them the opportunity to raise capital and give Indian investors a partnership in the company. Last year, LG Electronics also listed its Indian unit on the stock market, while Hyundai Motor raised about $3.3 billion in 2024 in the largest IPO in India’s history. Now Coca-Cola is also looking to grow further on this path.
How big is HCCB’s business?
