- Strict rules for outsiders

- Tourists are even prohibited from touching the villagers
Clear notices have been put up in many places in the village, which states that if any outsider touches anything here, he will have to pay a fine of Rs 1000 to Rs 2500. For this reason, tourists are very cautious. If a tourist wants to buy something from a shop, they throw the money outside the shop and the shopkeeper puts the item on the ground which the tourist picks up.
The most important feature of the Malana village is its administrative system. It is said that the village has its own constitution and the people here govern the village according to centuries-old traditions. The village also has its own parliament which has two houses: a big one and a small one. The big house has a total of 11 members. Eight of these members are elected by the villagers, while three are permanent, which include the Kardar, Gur and the priest. The small house is made up of the eldest member of each family in the village. If a member of the big house dies, the entire house is reconstituted. The village also has its own officials and local system to maintain law and order. Any dispute or important matter in the village is first discussed in the parliament. If the parliament fails to reach any decision, the final decision is taken in the name of the god Jamlu. The villagers consider Jamlu Rishi as their god, and his decisions are considered final for everyone.
There is another interesting belief about the village of Malana. According to some researchers, during the invasion of India by Alexander in 326 BC, some of his soldiers settled here. For this reason, some locals consider themselves descendants of Alexander’s soldiers. Although there is no concrete historical evidence for this, there has been a lot of research on the language and traditions of the village.
Another identity of Malana is its own language Kanashi. This language is considered a sacred language by the villagers. The special thing is that this language is not spoken anywhere else except Malana and it is not taught to outsiders.
Another strange tradition of Malana is to pay homage to the Mughal Emperor Akbar during the Fagli festival. According to local stories, Akbar once tested the strength of Jamlu Rishi. It is said that the villagers developed a devotion towards Akbar after a miraculous incident.
Malana village has become a center of attraction for researchers not only in India but also all over the world due to its traditions, unique social system and mysterious history. Every year a large number of tourists visit this village, but they are forced to strictly follow the rules of the village. This unique tradition makes Malana one of the most special and popular villages in India.
