Next Monday (7th) is the last day for farmer registration for Kharif paddy harvesting. In this process, which started on August 8th, a total of 21 lakh 40 thousand 682 farmers have registered by 11 pm on September 5th. This information has been given on the Food Odisha portal of the state food supply and consumer welfare department. Registration for paddy sale is being done in Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS), Large Tribal Multipurpose Cooperative Societies (LAMPS) and Pani Panchayats.
According to the information received, the maximum number of farmers registered in Bargarh district is 1 lakh 83 thousand, in Ganjam 1 lakh 74 thousand, in Balasore 1 lakh 20 thousand, in Kalahandi 1 lakh 34 thousand, in Balangir 1 lakh 18 thousand. This registration is going on in 2961 PACS and 4 Pani Panchayats of the state. However, only 4,353 farmers have registered in Kandhamal district, while 15,772 farmers have registered in Gajapati, according to information from the departmental portal.
