No More Guests? Why IPL Players are Now Under 24/7 Hotel Lockdown

New Delhi: The world’s richest cricket league is the IPL. Is the craze for this tournament, which is loved by all players, decreasing day by day? Such a discussion has started on social media. It is said that some strange behavior of the players is making cricket lovers turn their backs on some incidents. Earlier, arguments among friends for their own team were not seen much anymore.

When this unique tournament started in 2008, all sports lovers were watching it. And they were counting the days when it would be played. But now the craze is decreasing day by day because of the cases of vaping, VIP passes and honey traps.

Recently, the Parag and Chahal vaping cases became a hot topic of discussion. Experts have expressed the opinion that after such scenes came to light, it will affect young cricketers. Along with this, the girlfriend culture and the start of a farce in the name of VIP passes have also become a topic of discussion. Questions have also been raised about security while lobbing the hotel lobby.

BCCI secretary Debjit Saikia has sent a detailed advisory to all ten franchises, expressing serious concerns over the repeated violations of protocol. The board has warned that these incidents could damage the credibility of the tournament and pose security and legal risks. The allegations listed in the advisory are not a reflection of a single incident, but a clear culture: the presence of unauthorized persons in the hotel rooms of players and support staff, the movement of outsiders in the team bus and the constant contact of franchise owners with players during live matches.
